Toronto FC tops Tauro 1-0

Danny Koevermans headed in a goal in the 40th minute and Toronto FC defeated Panamanian team Tauro FC 1-0 Tuesday in a Group C CONCACAF Champions League match.
It was Toronto's second win in Group C, both coming against Tauro.
Tauro is still looking for its first win after losing to Toronto 2-1 in Panama City and earning draws with FC Dallas and Mexican team Pumas.
Toronto was coming in off losses to Dallas and Pumas in Champions League play, but had won its past two matches in Major League Soccer.
Toronto moved into second in the group with six points. FC Dallas leads with seven and Pumas has four. Those teams play Wednesday.
With Toronto ahead 1-0 in the second half, Tauro began to press forward and threatened to take control of the midfield.
Early in the second half, goalkeeper Milos Kocic, who has played all the Champions League matches for Toronto, came out nicely to punch a ball away from in front of the goal.
After Toronto put some pressure on the Tauro goal, Temistocles Perez had a chance in the 65th minute but Kocic made the save.
But Toronto did not stop trying to put pressure on the Tauro goal, particularly on counters.
But after a corner in stoppage time, Tauro was awarded a free kick just outside the penalty area and Matt Stinson was given a yellow card. The free kick was blocked and the final whistle sounded.
Koevermans, who scored both goals in the win over Colorado on Saturday, headed home a goal with five minutes left in the first half. It was started by a good cross from Toronto native Morgan, the ball came back to Peri Marosevic who headed the ball toward the goal and Koevermans converted.
The former Dutch international paid a price on the play as Anzola collided with him. Koevermans had to make a brief trip to the sideline before returning to the game.
