The industrious midfielder replaced Panagiotis Tachtsidis after 68 minutes to ensure Roma emerged victorious from Daniele de Rossi's 300th Serie A appearance with the club. Bradley will not have to wait as long to feature when he links up with his country. As usual, he is expected to play a critical role in both matches for Klinsmann's side.
 

Dempsey featured for the first time since January in Spurs' shock 1-0 home defeat to Fulham on Sunday. The U.S. lynchpin replaced the injured Michael Dawson at halftime to underscore his recovery from a calf complaint that had kept him out for the better part of two months. Gómez returned to a more natural center forward role in Santos Laguna's 2-1 victory at Atlas on Saturday night. Santos boss Pedro Caixinha recently shifted Gomez into a wide position in midfield, but he pushed Gómez into the vacancy created by Oribe Peralta's right knee strain for this affair in Guadalajara. Gómez scampered about in the central role and watched as Rodolfo Salinas and Carlos Darwin Quintero struck in the final ten minutes to give the visitors all three points.

The versatile forward will hope his recent displays – including three goals in his previous two Liga MX appearances and another strike against Houston in the CONCACAF Champions League in midweek – are enough to earn him a starting berth against Costa Rica on Friday.
