The end of the season also signals end of the line for struggling managers across the globe.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31472043 Arsene Wenger Arsene+Wenger World

The architect for the modern day Arsenal, Wenger has been a focal point in Arsenal’s successes. But after seven years without a trophy, fans have begun to turn against the French engineer.

The Gunners' worst league start in 18 years, the sale of Robin van Persie in the summer and an upset loss in the Capital One Cup, has led fans to become increasingly frustrated with the club’s prospects of silverware. Funds have been made available to Wenger, but his reluctance to spend large sums to bring in top-class players could prove to be his downfall.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31472976 Carlo Ancelotti Carlo+Ancelotti World

Big-spending Paris Saint-Germain got off to a flying start in Ligue 1 and Champions League play. Ancelotti has had the full backing of the club’s Qatari owners with a number of big names added to the squad in summer, but they want to see an immediate return for their investment this season.

Despite a strong start to their European campaign, PSG have begun to struggle domestically and a number of experienced managers such as Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola and Arsene Wenger are being linked with the ambitious French club. Oh the drama!

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31427535 Massimiliano Allegri Massimiliano+Allegri+ World

Winning the Serie A in his first season as manager for AC Milan was the perfect start for Allegri. Since then, his side have struggled with results and creativity on the pitch. Selling their prized striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer is proving to be a mistake, with the club well off the pace in Serie A and failing to finish top in their Champions League group.

Allegri has so far been given plenty of time by Milan’s unpredictable board; vice-president Adriano Galliani and president Silvio Berlusconi. Will Allegri's San Siro reign come to an end?

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31472046 Jose Mourinho Jose+Mourinho World

After a slow start in La Liga that has seen fierce rivals Barcelona create separation from Madrid, and failing to finish top of their Champions League group, the pressure is starting to build on Mourinho.

Usually a popular figure among his players, recent indications suggest the Portuguese coach has had a falling out with Sergio Ramos, and a public spat with the club’s reserve side coach, Alberto Toril, over young talent. However Mourinho will feel most unsettled following reports from Madrid paper, Marca, known for its links with the club, that Florentino Perez believes Mourinho’s time at the club cannot continue past June 30.

Stay tuned.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31464643 Rafael Benitez Rafael+Benitez World

After taking the Chelsea job on an interim basis in November, Benitez has been met with a barrage of negativity from the club’s fans. Following the sacking of the popular Roberto Di Matteo, Benitez’s brand of negative football has been a sticking point, with Chelsea struggling to win games under Benitez.

Despite being relatively new to the job, Benitez faces a massive task to get the fans on board. More worrisome for Benitez: he must repay the faith bestowed by the ruthless owner, Roman Abramovich. Good luck.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31666762 Harry Redknapp Harry+Redknapp World

It's hard to include the former Tottenham boss in this group, but the truth is, we need to. Since being appointed QPR manager in November 2012, Redknapp has posted a 5-8-7 record (25% winning percentage) with the Loftus Road club. The pressure will mount with QPR battling to remain in the Premier League for the next two months. Whether he deserves it or not, if the Hoops fail to remain in the top flight, Redknapp will surely get much of the blame.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31427536 Brendan Rodgers Brendan+Rodgers World

Adopting a fresh mentality at Anfield, Rodgers has been seen as the manager who can build Liverpool into trophy contenders once again. Yet since taking over the club over the summer, Rodgers has been unable to invest heavily during the summer, relying on a large proportion of youngsters to fill the positions.

However in parts, the squad has looked threadbare and have relied too heavily on the creative skills of Luis Suarez, and struggled to win games with a lack of striking options.

With an exceptional history of winning silverware, Liverpool fans demand success from every manager. Rodgers needs to spend wisely in the January transfer window, while bringing in enough quality players to match the club’s ambition.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31472968 Alan Pardew Alan+Pardew World

An unpopular choice when he was given the manager’s job at Newcastle, Pardew won the fans over thanks to an impressive fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

So far this season the club has suffered, in large part due to injuries from its key players. Newcastle has struggled to deal with both its commitments in the Premier League and Europa League. While Pardew has the backing of the board, the club’s fans are known for their passion and loyalty; though if results continue to go against Pardew, the board may be put under pressure to remove the Newcastle manager.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31427540 Marcelo Bielsa Marcelo+Bielsa World

Heralded for their brand of attacking football in last year’s Europa League run, when Athletic Bilbao reached the final of the competition, Bielsa has overseen a side struggling in La Liga, and out of the Europa League.

Last year’s Europa League proved to be Bilbao’s downfall, showcasing many of the club’s talents at a European stage meant the likes of Javi Martinez were soon in demand, with Bayern Munich scooping Martinez away from San Mames.

The problem doesn't stop there. Bielsa’s player problems have also increased following the news that the club’s top scorer from last year, Fernando Llorente, refused to sign a new contract in the summer and is rumored to be heading to Juventus in the January transfer window.

World 2018 43 Managers on the hot seat 31427532 Roberto Mancini Roberto+Mancini World

After delivering the Premier League title to the blue side of Manchester for the first time in 44 years, Mancini looked as though his job would be assured for the foreseeable future. After crashing out of the Champions League at the group stage for consecutive seasons, and amassing the lowest points total by an English team in their latest European campaign, the owners will be desperate for a trophy this season.

Despite boasting an impressive squad, Manchester City has struggled to hit form. Lackluster performances in the Champions League and less than impressive domestically, including the derby loss to rival Manchester United,  Mancini will be desperate to find last year’s form especially with Pep Guardiola rumored to be a target for the club.
