Alfaro benefited from Dos Santos' work again in the second half as he grabbed his second after the Mexico midfielder hit the bar with a header. Mallorca held out for the final 24 minutes to boost its bid to avoid relegation.
 

Espanyol slipped to a second defeat in three matches after a 2-0 loss at Rayo Vallecano on Saturday. Chori Dominguez and Piti scored on either side of halftime to bolster Rayo's bid for a European place next season and stop Espanyol from reversing its recent run of indifferent form. Moreno featured for all 90 minutes in central defense in the setback.
