Likelihood: small chance.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that Steven Pienaar had disappreared off the face of the planet, but his name has been mentioned in dispatches this month about a move to the other side of London.

Harry Redknapp said earlier this month that he wanted to keep the South Africa international, complimenting him on not giving the ball away in his 10 minutes on the pitch against his former club Everton. 

He even got two minutes against Manchester City at the weekend. Now it has emerged that Spurs have told London rival QPR that if they want him they'll have to part with £6million for the midfielder which would represent good business on the £2m Spurs actually splashed out.

Pienaar isn't happy with that figure (QPR offered £3m) and isn't happy with the fact he rarelty gets a game. Expect a chat with the club's hierarchy fairly soon to clear up his future. With 'ambitious' Mark Hughes at the helm at Loftus Road we reckon there's a chance that this deal could come off by the end of the month. Just a small one, but a chance.

It's a welcome return to the Rumor Redux top 10 gallery for one of our favorite players on the planet.

This attacking midfielder is a few yards away from being Cristiano Ronaldo but his stepovers and general trickery bring to mind the Real Madrid man. 

The most recent club to be interested in his services is Chelsea. The figure is £25million. Hang on a minute, didn't Andy Carroll cost £35m? Yeah, we know. Inflated prices for British players.

Something tells me that the numer will be a lot higher than that, especially as Real Madrid is starting to become interested.

Hazard has apparently said he is staying at Lille and that he wants to give the Premier League a crack. We can conclude only one thing from these conflicting statements. He is joining Real Madrid.

Rumor: headed to Real Madrid.

Likelihood: very, very low.

Seems like an annual tradition that Real Madrid comes knocking on Manchester United’s doorstep. David Beckham, Ruud van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo all left Old Trafford for Real’s fortunes, and this time around the Merengues have shortlisted the English forward on their wish list.

Unlike the previous moves, Welbeck hasn’t reached his true ‘peak’ in a Man United uniform. Sir Alex Ferguson has benefited from the forward’s impressive form despite having options at his disposal

Even though Jose Mourinho and the Real Madrid board seem ready to drop a €25 million offer for the 21-year-old, we expect Welbeck to remain at United, unless of course Madrid’s willing to triple (as reported on Marca) their offer.
 

Rumor: to Corinthians.

Likelihood: good.

What's the use of having Ronaldinho back in South America if he's not playing in the Libertadores? If that's what you're asking, Gaucho seems to agree, with rumors out of Brazil having the former FIFA World Player of the Year engineering a move from Flamengo to rival Corinthians.

As the defending Serie A champions, Corinthians are entered directly into Copa's group stage. Fla? On the outside looking in.

As jumping clubs like this isn't generally considered to be a huge deal in Brazil, can't we just make this happen? One warning: Ronaldinho and Adriano on the same team will carry consequences.

Rumor: to Flamengo.

Likelihood: good.

New York Red Bulls fans want him out. Marquez wants to leave, and Flamengo seems happy enough to take on the Mexican international as another of their huge stars, Ronaldinho, readies for a move across town.

The only problem? New York Red Bulls, as an organization, see this as an opportunity. You want Rafa? Of course you do, rich Brazilian club. Let's talk money.

Understandably, Flamengo may be looking for a deal.

Rumor: headed to Chelsea.

Likelihood: low.

Since the start of the season, Eriksen has accumulated much interest from European clubs after making impressive performances with Eredivisie champions Ajax. After making an earlier appearance in our Rumor Redux circle, the 19-year-old is now rumored to be in Chelsea’s sights for a possible transfer in January.

Don't hold your breath though.  In a perfect world, Chelsea would be able to outbid for a shortlisted player. But with Andres Villas-Boas claiming that he will not enter in a bidding war for any footballer, we doubt that this move will go down much to the dismay of Chelsea fans around the world.

Rumor: headed to Arsenal.

Likelihood: low.
 

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is expected to renew his interest in the Marseille playmaker after his side's recent performance against Premier League rival Manchester United over the weekend.

After admitting that a move to Emirates Stadium would have been a ‘dream’ come true, the 30-year-old midfielder could still have that chance, especially after Arsenal's lack of midfield creativity over their recent Premier League stretch.

Gonzalez's sour relationship will Marseille manager Didier Deschamps has been well chronicled in the rumor redux. If Wenger really wants to silence his critics, he should entertain the option of bringing the Argentine to retain an ounce of European play next season.

Rumor: headed to Manchester City.

Likelihood: no chance.

Handsome he's not but this boy can play and is one of the fastest players on the planet. Just ask Maicon.

The Tottenham winger (I think it's safe to say that Harry Redknapp has dropped his long-term plan to play him as a left-back no matter how poor Benoit Assou-Ekotto) is a thing of beauty when he goes on a run and his finishing isn't bad either. Just ask Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The weekend papers were all over a story saying that Bale could become a team-mate of Hart if Roberto Mancini had his way. The price? Just £150million or if you prefer that in dollars it's $233m. Ridiculous, yes. But that just shows how much Spurs are determined to hang on to their prize asset. 

It's pretty obvious Bale is loving life at the Lane and while we can't rule out a move in the distant future this lad is staying in north London for the time being. 

Rumor: headed to Juventus.

Likelihood: low.

Juventus wants to remain on top of Serie A and cement a place in Champions League play next season. Not surprising enough, they want to do it with the services of the talented Colombian.

A midfielder with tons of spunk, but most of all, spark, Guarín could offer Antonio Conte an attacking option in the flanks (something he’s been unwilling to do this season). While Guarín is a solid starter for national team and enjoys the teachings of new manager José Pekerman, the 25-year-old is looking for a new challenge in Serie A.

Whether this will happen remains to be seen. If the reports are true (€3 million) expect Porto to kindly reject Juve’s offer.

Rumor: headed to Rubin Kazan.

Likelihood: Who knows?

Rubin Kazan, Marseille, Anzhi Makhachkala, Spartak Moscow, QPR...we could go on all day about all the clubs that Roman Pavlyuchenko has been linked with since December.

The Tottenham striker can count himself unlucky to be sitting on the bench so often and it's fair to say he looked a prime candidate for a move in January. 

However, it now looks that everybody just got it wrong all along. Even though his agent had been talking about the Russian's options at the end of the year in now turns out Spurs took up the option to extend his contract by another year after all!  Who says so? His agent.

One theory is that Spurs have tied him down to a new deal to ensure he's worth something when it comes to selling.

Another theory is that the agent never said anything of the sort. We wait with baited breath.
