Radomir Antic will remain the Serbia coach despite poor World Cup results, a mayor pay cut and a FIFA suspension.

Serbia Football Association president Tomislav Karadzic said on Thursday that keeping Antic "is not the best solution, but we have no better candidate."

Antic has reportedly accepted halving his 100,000 euros ($128,000) monthly salary by about 50 percent, which was the main condition set by the association for him to remain at the job.

FIFA has suspended Antic for four matches for "inappropriate behavior" against a referee after the World Cup match against Australia which Serbia lost 2-1, leading to its elimination after the group stage.
