OPEN HAS MINIMAL EFFECT

And the ones who'll complete their final round of the rain-extended U.S. Open today likely will arrive at the TPC River Highlands in Cromwell later today or Tuesday.
"We had five SUVs at Bethpage Black Saturday and another [luxury] bus went down there [Sunday] to transport players here," Grube said. "We'll have another bus go down there [today]."
The opening ceremony at 9 a.m., a pro clinic at 10 at the practice range and the Aetna Tournament Players Pro-Am at noon will go on as scheduled today at the TPC River Highlands.
The only effect of the problems at the U.S. Open is that David Toms and Brad Adamonis, who missed the U.S. Open cut and are in the Travelers field, won't be at the TPC River Highlands today or Tuesday to practice. Those two, along with Matt Kuchar and Laura Diaz and Brittany Lincicome from the LPGA Tour, replaced Bubba Watson, Anthony Kim, Todd Hamilton, Camilo Villegas and Retief Goosen - all still playing at Bethpage Black - in the CVS Caremark Charity Classic today and Tuesday in Barrington, R.I.
To kick off the tournament, Travelers chairman and CEO Jay Fishman will ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange with 2006 champion J.J. Henry and Stuart Appleby today at 9:30 a.m.
