Mel shares second spot

Golf: Mel Reid (pictured) took a share of second place into the second round of the Ladies European Tour Irish Open.
A four-under-par 68 left the Breadsall player one shot behind Julie Greciet of France. Reid dropped only one shot in her round, at the seventh, and picked up birdies at the fourth, sixth, ninth, 11th and 12th.
Stuart Davis finished the second round of the men's European Tour BMW International Open in Munch still sub-par for the tournament but that was not enough for him to make the cut.
He had a level-par 72 in a second round that included three birdies and three bogeys to stay on one under for the event but the cut for the weekend fell at three under.
