SAUJANA Golf and Country Club will host the two-day 150th Anniversary Open Championship International Final Qualifying (IFQ) - Asia from tomorrow with four berths up for grabs at St Andrews in July.
The event will see the strongest field ever in the IFQ-Asia's short history with 72 players from the Asian Tour, European Tour and the Japan Tour teeing up for the event at the Palm Course to vie for the four spots reserved for Asia.
Similar qualifying events will be held across Africa, Australasia, Europe and America.
Among the field will be 18-year-old 2010 Maybank Malaysian Open champion Noh Seung-yul from South Korea - the youngest player to win the Malaysian Open as well as on the European Tour - and the super long hitter from Thailand Kiradech Aphibarnrat.
Other stars include Thailand's Thaworn Wiratchant who topped the Asian Tour's money list in 2005, 2009 Malaysian Open champion Anthony Kang and Daisuke Maruyama of Japan.
Danny Chia, who became the first Malaysian to tee up at The Open when he won a berth in 2005, will also be among the starters at Saujana.
Last year's successful finalists were Liang Wen-Chong (China), Australians Tim Stewart and Terry Pilkadaris and Gaganjeet Bhullar (India).
