Chapchai, Liang tie for Avantha lead

Chapchai Nirat and Liang Wenchong each shot a 6-under 66 Friday to tie for the lead after the second round of the Avantha Masters, two strokes ahead of four others.
Chapchai and Liang were even at 132 total at the Jaypee Greens.
''This is a very long course and I managed to hit the balls long the last two days,'' Chapchai said. ''I also managed to hole several long putts as well and luck did play a part in getting me to my position today.''
Chawalit Plaphol (68), David Drysdale (67), Joonas Granberg (67) and Tommy Fleetwood (65) were two strokes behind in third.
Overnight leader Chinnarat Phadungsil, who had eight birdies on the back nine for a 61 in the first round, shot 74.
''I had a very bad start, especially with my double-bogey on the 11th,'' Chinnarat said. ''I found the water on the 13th and just couldn't get it going. But hopefully I'll play the way I did yesterday and all will be forgotten.''
Colin Montgomerie (76) failed to make the 3-under cut, finishing with a two-round score of 8-over 152. Defending champion Jbe Kruger (72) and local challenger Shiv Kapur (72) also missed the cut.
