''I am very pleased with today's work,'' Warren said. ''They were tough conditions on a tough golf course so to shoot 68 is a very pleasing day. I like the fact you've got to hit so many different shots.

''There was always something to the shots and I felt as if I did well. Hopefully that continues tomorrow.''

Countryman Craig Lee is two strokes back after a 70, with English pair David Horsey (66) and Paul Waring (69) both another shot behind.

Horsey carded a round-best 66 after he birdied eight holes, including seven of the last 13.

American Peter Uihlein led entering the day but managed only a 74 to fall four shots back.

Sergio Garcia had his best round of the event with a 70, but was still far back at 1 under.

''I played the first nine holes horribly, but I was better on the back nine,'' said Garcia. ''I missed three or four good opportunities, but it isn't easy to make birdies on these greens unless your name is David Horsey.''

Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano, the other local favorite along with Garcia, is another stroke behind heading into Sunday's final round.
