David Diehl Scouting Report

Diehl looks more like a tackle than a guard. He is tall with a good frame but not much girth. He is somewhat caught between the two positions. He isn't quick enough or strong enough to be a tackle and isn't big enough to be a guard. His lack of strength really hurts him in the running game. He doesn't generate much power and won't dominate defenders. Diehl does a better job of moving his feet and taking good angles to wall off his opponent than simply mauling him. He can mirror and slide in pass protection and is decent at blitz pickups. He does tend to play to high and lose leverage. He will have to get bigger and stronger to be an effective lineman in the NFL, but he does have some upside to him.
