Lebanon, TN (Sports Network) - , driving the No.99 Chevrolet, bypassed a final lap, four-car crash among the leaders to win the Pepsi 300 at the Nashville Superspeedway. The victory was the 11th of Waltrip's Busch career.

Waltrip raced very well all day long. He was in the top-10 for 181 of the 225 laps. His only problem during the day involved brushing up with Jr., who had spun out on lap 155. Waltrip's car was slightly damaged, but it wasn't enough to stop him from taking the Pepsi 300 crown.

"Today we were lucky for sure," said an electric Waltrip after the race.

With two laps to go, it looked for sure that Clint Bowyer, , Johnny Benson and Robby Gordon were going to vie for the title as they raced in a small lead pack. But Bowyer spun out which led to him hitting Busch and the two then collected Benson and Gordon.

"We were all racing hard...everything broke lose from there," said Bowyer after the race.

, like Waltrip, was also able to sneak by the crash to get a runner-up result. It was Sauter's second consecutive runner-up finish at the Pepsi 300.

, Bowyer and Gordon competed the top-five.

, the defending champion, had trouble all day long and he was never able to put a good run together. Despite all his problems, however, Green was able to pull out a 10th-place finish.

., who won the pole but started 43rd on the grid because of a crash in practice, raced only well enough to get 23rd-place finish.

Rain that had been predicted held off until the race was over, but the slick track from an earlier storm caused many drivers to have tire problems.

With his win, Waltrip claimed the top spot with 1033 points, eight ahead of Green (1025). Busch (977), Gordon (972) and Truex Jr. (968) make up the top- five.

The next race in the Busch championship is set for Saturday, April 24th at the Talladega Superspeedway.
