#2 Barcola - A fast and classy veteran, Barcola stretches out in distance today after a solid try sprinting in his first effort for new trainer Peter Kazamias. His best lifetime efforts clearly have been in two-turn route races where he can flash his outstanding early speed. While this race has plenty of early pace pressure to force his hand, there's not a real quality, late-running horse to breathe fire late if Barcola can handle the early onslaught. The closers in this field appear to be facing an uphill battle in the class match-up, so the "speed of the speed" looks dangerous on paper.
