Ohio's premiere regional sports network to televise 75 Blue Jackets games

COLUMBUS, OHIO - FOX Sports Ohio and the Columbus Blue Jackets announced today the 2009-10 telecast schedule as the network will once again carry 75 live regular season games, 50 of which will be aired in HD. FOX Sports Ohio's Emmy-award-winning coverage of the Columbus Blue Jackets begins on Saturday, October 3 when the Blue Jackets open their ninth National Hockey League season with a 7pm match-up against the Minnesota Wild.

"FOX Sports Ohio is delighted to present Blue Jackets fans 75 games and enhanced coverage this season," said Henry Ford, Senior Vice President and General Manager. "As the leading sports television network in the region, FOX Sports Ohio will provide fans with more access, information and in-depth coverage of the Columbus Blue Jackets."

FOX Sports Ohio will air 38 home games and 37 away contests during the 2009-10 Blue Jackets regular season. The schedule continues to emphasize division rivalries but also features contests against non-divisional Western Conference opponents and Eastern Conference clubs. Highlights include the October 3rd opener versus the Minnesota Wild, the October 30th clash with the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins and the November 11th game vs. the Detroit Red Wings, which is the first meeting between the two clubs since last year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As previously announced, The FOX Sports Ohio/Blue Jackets broadcast team features play-by-play announcer Jeff Rimer alongside color analyst Bill Davidge. Joining the Blue Jackets broadcast this season will be John Michael, former play-by-play voice and host for the AHL's Lake Erie Monsters, as the broadcast's in-game reporter.

Coverage each game night will begin with Blue Jackets Live pre-game show, featuring highlights, player interviews and analysis 30 minutes prior to each game. And immediately following the final horn, the coverage will continue with the post-game edition of Blue Jackets Live, presented by IGS Energy. For home games live from Nationwide Arena, Jeff Hogan returns as host of the pre-game show, working with Davidge as co-host, and Michael will host the post-game show.

FOX Sports Ohio also recently announced the addition of the Jackets' first ever road pre-game and post-game shows anchored from the FOX Sports Ohio studio and hosted by Ray Crawford. This new host of the road shows will be joined from site by Michael and the game talent.
