FSN Midwest will deliver 88 St. Louis Cardinals games in High Definition in 2008, the network announced today. That figure more than doubles the 37 Cardinals games produced in HD last season by FSN Midwest.

The HD schedule starts Opening Day, Monday, March 31, when the Cardinals host the National League champion Colorado Rockies at Busch Stadium.

FSN Midwest will produce nearly 70 percent of its 130 total Cardinals telecasts in HD. All but one game from Busch Stadium -- 63 of 65 home telecasts -- will air in HD. The FSN Midwest HD and full telecast schedules are attached.

FSN Midwest began its Cardinals HD telecasts in 2006, when it produced 17 HD games. That increased to 37 games last season before the 137 percent increase to 88 games in 2008.

The standard-definition telecast of games produced by FSN in HD appears on the regular FSN Midwest channel, while FSN Midwest HD games appear on a separate channel. Viewers should contact their cable or satellite provider to find out if FSN Midwest HD telecasts are available in their area. A list of providers that carry FSN Midwest HD games will be posted prior to the start of the season at FoxSports.com, search: Midwest.

Nationally, FSN is producing more than 1,000 MLB games this season in HD, nearly double the amount of HD games produced in 2007.
