Can I obtain copy of a game or program that aired on Fox Sports Detroit?
Per league rules, Tigers, Red Wings, Pistons and Shock games cannot be reproduced for public consumption. The rights to those games belong to MLB, NHL and the NBA, respectively. For other games and programs, generally Fox Sports Detroit is unable to accommodate such requests.
The exception is MHSAA championship events that air on Fox Sports Detroit (football, baskeball, volleyball); they are available for purchase at this website.
Someone I know appeared in a story that ran on Michigan High School Hammer Time. How would I go about getting a copy of the segment/show?
If you'd like to purchase a copy of a High School Hammer Time episode/segment, send an email to hshammertime@gmail.com. The show's website is www.myspace.com/hshammertime.
Why isn't every game shown in high-definition?
FSN nationally already offers more events in HD than any other network (including ESPN). Regionally on FOX Sports Detroit, more than 70% of all Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons telecasts combined are produced in HD, totaling approximately 225 games annually among the three teams. Capacity challenges limit the number of HD telecasts:
•There is limited bandwidth capacity of receiving and sending HD signals at Fox Sports' master control facility in Houston.
•FSN has to manage its HD capacity for 16 owned & operated networks across the country, which limits our capability.
•Our HD schedule is expected to increase again in 2009-10.
•The network's ultimate goal is to produce all games in HD.
What is my FOX Sports Detroit PLUS channel number? What if my cable company doesn't carry FOX Sports Detroit PLUS?
A list of cable and satellite providers who carry FSN PLUS can be found here. While FSN Plus is offered to all cable systems in the Fox Sports Detroit regional footprint, not all systems have the technical infrastructure in place to accommodate the channel. You are encouraged to contact your cable provider to tell them you wish to receive FSN PLUS.
Can I request the Tigers, Red Wings or Pistons announcers to deliver a personal greeting during a telecast?
Generally, we are unable to accommodate personal greeting requests.
I'm a satellite subscriber that lives outside of Michigan. Can I watch Fox Sports Detroit's telecasts of the Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons?
Satellite customers outside of the Fox Sports Detroit footprint (Michigan and portions of NW Ohio) are blacked out from Tigers, Red Wings and Pistons games because of territorial restrictions put in place by the respective leagues. Some areas may be able to see the games via the leagues' out-of-market subscription packages via satellite or on-line. Consult the league websites, or contact your video provider, for information.
Why doesn't Fox Sports Detroit carry all Red Wings and Pistons playoff games?
Red Wings: Versus and NBC have exclusive rights to all games in the Conference Finals and Stanley Cup Finals (rounds 3 and 4). In the Conference Semifinals (round 2), Versus and NBC may each televise two games exclusively (Fox Sports Detroit may televise any non-exclusive games). In the Conference Quarterfinals (round 1), Fox Sports Detroit may televise any game not picked up by NBC.
Pistons: All games in the Conference Finals (round 3) are exclusive to TNT and ABC. The NBA Finals (round 4) are exclusive to ABC. Most games in the Conference Semifinals are exclusive to TNT or ABC (Fox Sports Detroit may televise any non-TNT/ABC games). In the Conference Quarterfinals (round 1), Fox Sports Detroit may televise any game not picked up by ABC.
