Chris Johnson’s fantasy owners can moan and groan all they want, but the Titans running back doesn’t want to hear it.
Johnson, who finished with a stat line of 21 yards on 15 carries in the Titans’ 38-13 win against the Jets, was served a heap of blame from his unhappy followers after his performance.
The sixth-year running back sent a message to his followers after the game, saying that getting the win (opposed to padding his stats) is the only thing that matters.
“Public service announcement: I can care less about fantasy football,” Johnson wrote on his Twitter. “Key word fantasy. As long as we win I’m happy. I rush for 200 n lose y’all happy.
“U r the head coach n the owner of ur fantasy team so u should be mad at urself I didn’t ask any of u to draft me so if I’m so sorry y start me”
Fantasy football and running backs haven’t had the best relationship this season. While several experts forewarned fantasy football owners that the running back class was thin, there was an overabundance of players at the position taken early.
Johnson joins Ray Rice, who also took a shot at the hate that originated from fantasy football players.
I was a fan of fantasy football until today so many spiteful and hateful words I still love you all God Bless great win today #Ravens
