This is hard to look at.
The Dolphins were in Houston to take on the Texans on Saturday in a preseason game. Tight end Dustin Keller caught a pass from QB Ryan Tannehill in the second quarter and was hit by defensive back D.J. Swearinger. That’s when Keller’s knee twisted, as you can see above.
Keller immediately crumpled to the ground and had to be taken off the field on a cart. Since then, FOXSports.com NFL writers Alex Marvez and Mike Garafolo have reported that Keller will miss the entire 2013 season.
“I was making a hit playing football,” Swearinger told Andrew Abramson of the Palm Beach Post. “In this league you’ve got to go low. If you go high you’re going to get a fine. . . .
“The rules say you can’t hit high so I went low and I’m sorry that happened. I would think you’d rather have more concussions than leg injuries. Leg injury, you can’t come back from that. A concussion, you be back in a couple in a couple of weeks.”
