Cincinnati Reds @ Philadelphia Phillies

Scheduled Start Time: 1:35 PM ET

Citizens Bank Park

(Sports Network) - Homer Bailey was masterful in his most recent outing and had one of the best performances of his career last month against the Philadelphia Phillies.

On Sunday, the right-hander takes aim at winning back-to-back starts for the first time since last season when the Reds conclude a three-game set in Philadelphia.

Bailey had 10 strikeouts against no walks in a complete-game win at Miami on Tuesday. On April 16 against the Phillies, he had similar strikeout-walk numbers and gave up two hits in eight solid innings of a no-decision. He's yet to beat the Phils, going 0-3 with a 4.24 ERA in seven games.

Rookie Jonathan Pettibone counters for the Phillies. He's yet to taste defeat at the major league level. The righty makes his sixth career start and is coming off a win Tuesday against Cleveland. In that game, Pettibone allowed four hits and a pair of runs over 6 2/3 innings.

Yesterday, Bronson Arroyo tossed 7 2/3 scoreless innings and struck out six as the Cincinnati Reds blanked the Phillies, 10-0.

The Reds put up a three-spot in the second inning to provide a cushion for Arroyo (4-4), who yielded just five hits while issuing two walks. Following consecutive singles by Todd Frazier and Donald Lutz, each of whom had two hits and an RBI, catcher Ryan Hanigan delivered a no-doubter to left field for his first home run of the season.

Joey Votto went 4-for-4 with a homer and drew two walks in six trips to the plate for Cincinnati, which won for the 11th time in 14 contests.

Kyle Kendrick (4-2), who had gone at least six innings while allowing two runs or less in seven straight starts, was tagged for four runs on eight hits over six innings to absorb the loss. The Reds put six more runs across the plate against Phillies relievers.

'You have got to stay together and keep plugging at it, you have got to grind it out,' Philadelphia manager Charlie Manuel said. 'That's actually how you build heart and strength about your team. That's actually how you become a team.'

The Reds swept three games from the Phillies in Cincinnati in April, while Philadelphia won four of seven games between the teams in 2012.
