Arizona Diamondbacks @ Colorado Rockies

Scheduled Start Time: 8:40 PM ET

Coors Field

(Sports Network) - Colorado's Jhoulys Chacin tries to put the brakes on a personal three-game losing streak on Tuesday when the Colorado Rockies continue a three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field.

Chacin's most recent loss was one of the worst of his career, as he fell to the defending World Series champion San Francisco Giants, who torched him for eight runs and nine hits in 5 1/3 innings.

After giving up a mere four runs in his first four starts of the year, Chacin is now 3-3 with a 4.07 ERA.

'It was just a bad day for Chacin,' Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez said. 'Chacin's a pitcher who always gives us a chance to win, but it didn't happen tonight. It was just a bad game.'

Chacin last won back on April 19 when he held the Diamondbacks scoreless through 6 1/3 innings. He is 4-2 lifetime against them with a 2.50 ERA in 11 games, 10 of which have been starts.

Getting the call for the D'backs on Tuesday will be righty Ian Kennedy, who is 2-3 with a 4.88 ERA. Kennedy won for the first time in nine starts on Wednesday, as he held the Atlanta Braves to three runs and five hits in five innings. He also struck out seven and picked up his first win since beating St. Louis on Opening Day.

'You'll take every single one of these wins,' said Kennedy, who has walked three or more batters in six of his last seven starts. 'You want to throw deeper into the game, but you'll take every single one of these. Just happy the team picked me up today.'

Kennedy lost to the Rockies earlier in the year and is 3-3 with a 2.85 ERA in 13 starts against them.

Arizona drew first blood in this NL West showdown on Monday, as Patrick Corbin recorded yet another quality start and went the distance for the first time in his brief career in the Diamondbacks' 5-1 win.

Corbin (7-0) stayed perfect on the season and has thrown at least six innings and held the opposition to two or fewer runs in all nine of his outings. The 23-year-old lefty gave up just one run on three hits and one walk while racking up a career-high 10 strikeouts. His ERA dipped to 1.44.

'I was able to get ahead with my heater and strike them out with my slider,' Corbin said. 'I just kept them off balance.'

Didi Gregorius, Eric Chavez and A.J. Pollock each had three hits for an Arizona attack that pounded out 16. Gregorius had two RBI, Chavez scored a run and knocked in another and Pollock came around twice in the victory, Arizona's fifth in six games.

The Diamondbacks are a game in front of the San Francisco Giants and two in front of the Rockies in the NL West.

Jon Garland (3-5) was knocked around for 11 hits and five runs in a six-inning start for the Rockies, who had a three-game winning streak stopped.

Arizona has won five of the eight meetings between these two teams this season.
