Miami Marlins @ Chicago White Sox

Scheduled Start Time: 2:10 PM ET

U.S. Cellular Field

(Sports Network) - Alex Sanabia tries to win back-to-back starts for the first time since his rookie season when the Miami Marlins aim to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Chicago White Sox on Sunday at U.S. Cellular Field.

Sanabia, who pitched 6 1/3 solid innings in a win against the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday, hasn't posted triumphs in consecutive starts since Aug. 19 and 25, 2010. The right-hander is 1-3 in four road starts this year.

Dylan Axelrod is after his third straight win today for the White Sox. The righty beat Boston on Monday, and before that won at Minnesota on May 15. Axelrod limited the Red Sox to four hits and two runs in six innings.

The White Sox are on a roll of late, having won four of their last five games with all of those victories coming by two runs or less.

Yesterday, Jake Peavy lost out on his bid to record his seventh career shutout, but not the win after the White Sox scored in the bottom of the ninth inning to come through with a 2-1 verdict.

Peavy (6-2) was two outs away from finishing off a 1-0 victory when Derek Dietrich belted a solo homer in the top of the ninth. He was picked up in the White Sox's half of the frame, though, when Dewayne Wise doubled off Ryan Webb (1-3) and Conor Gillaspie followed with a single to bring home the deciding run.

'He has a very simple approach. He's not trying to overswing,' White Sox manager Robin Ventura said of Gillaspie. 'He's just trying to get it on the barrel and he's been big for us this year. He's a pretty good contact hitter.'

Gillaspie's hit capped a 3-for-4 night, while Peavy yielded just six hits and two walks while striking out five in going the distance.

Alexi Ramirez added two hits, including an RBI double, to help Chicago to its eighth triumph in 11 outings. Alex Rios finished 0-for-4, however, to end his career-best hitting streak at 18 games.

Dietrich's shot took Ricky Nolasco off the hook for a hard-luck loss. The Miami starter held the White Sox to only one run while scattering eight hits and fanning six over 7 2/3 sharp innings.

'He's been great. He's being given opportunities,' Marlins manager Mike Redmond said of Dietrich. 'This kid wants to stay in the big leagues. He's got energy, he's got fire.'

The Marlins have now dropped four straight and 11 of their last 13 games.

The White Sox defeated the Marlins in two of three games when they last met in 2010.
