Baltimore Orioles @ Kansas City Royals

Scheduled Start Time: 8:10 PM ET

Kauffman Stadium

(Sports Network) - Right-hander Scott Feldman makes his fourth appearance in a Baltimore uniform on Monday night when the Orioles travel to Kauffman Stadium to open up a four-game series with the host Kansas City Royals.

The 30-year-old made 29 appearances for the Texas Rangers last season, then signed a free-agent deal in the offseason to join the Chicago Cubs.

He was 7-6 in 15 starts with the Cubs through June 26, before he was dealt to the Orioles and made his first start with them on July 3.

He got a no-decision in a Baltimore win over the Chicago White Sox in that inaugural effort, and has since split a pair of outings - allowing 14 hits and 10 runs in 12 2/3 innings while losing an 8-5 verdict to Texas and beating Toronto, 7-4.

Feldman is 3-2 in 14 career meetings with the Royals.

Kansas City replies with righty Wade Davis, who tries for a fifth time for his first win since June 16.

The 27-year-old topped his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays, with six innings of two-run ball to improve to 4-5 on the season, but has since gone 0-3 in four starts through July 10.

He was shelled for eight runs on six hits in just five innings of his most recent outing, an 8-1 loss to the New York Yankees in the Bronx.

In the four games since the last win, he's given up 19 runs on 25 hits in just 20 innings of work.

Davis is 6-4 in 17 lifetime outings against Baltimore.

On Sunday in Texas, the Orioles knocked around Martin Perez early, Chris Tillman protected the advantage over eight-plus innings and Baltimore finished off a sweep of the Rangers with a 4-2 win.

Matt Wieters, J.J. Hardy and Brian Roberts each had two hits and an RBI to propel the offense and Baltimore to its seventh victory in eight games. Manny Machado knocked in a run as well in the triumph.

Tillman (12-3) was a late addition to the All-Star Game and proved his worth by fanning seven and limiting Texas to two runs on six hits and three walks over his impressive outing.

The righty has won nine of his last 10 decisions. Adrian Beltre reached him for a home run in the ninth, but Brian Matusz and Darren O'Day pieced together the last three outs, with the latter earning the save.

In Kansas City, Miguel Cabrera and Andy Dirks belted solo homers to back six sharp innings from Doug Fister as the Tigers averted a three-game series sweep by the Royals with a 4-1 victory at Kauffman Stadium.

The Royals went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position en route to their sixth loss in eight games, with Miguel Tejada's solo homer in the second inning accounting for the club's lone run.

James Shields (4-7) worked seven innings in defeat for Kansas City, allowing three runs on nine hits and fanning six.

The Orioles won two of three from the Royals when the teams met in May at Camden Yards. Baltimore won the season series in 2012, 5-4.
