San Diego Padres @ Los Angeles Dodgers

Scheduled Start Time: 9:10 PM ET

Dodger Stadium

(Sports Network) - Andrew Cashner hopes for a little run support on Saturday when the San Diego Padres continue a three-game set with the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium

Cashner, who is winless in his last four starts, was terrific his last time out, but did not get a decision through no fault of his own, as he scattered two hits over seven scoreless innings in his team's 3-2 win. For the year, he is 8-8 with a 3.55 ERA.

'Today has really been the first day that I had three pitches working throughout the entire game,' Cashner said after his last start. 'My sinker was really good today, and pitching my fastball to both sides of the plate allowed my slider and changeup to be so good.'

Cashner allowed one run in eight innings in his only start against the Dodgers earlier this season.

Los Angeles, meanwhile, will counter with lefty Chris Capuano, who has not recorded an out in the sixth inning of his past four starts and has a 6.98 ERA in that span.

Capuano lost to Boston on Sunday and gave up three runs and six hits in five innings, dropping him to 4-7 on the year to go along with a 4.74 ERA.

He has faced the Padres 16 times (13 starts) and is 5-5 with a 3.62 ERA against them. He beat them the last time he faced them and yielded just one unearned run over seven innings.

L.A. continued to cruise in Friday's opener, as Adrian Gonzalez smacked a pair of two run homers in the Dodgers' 9-2 victory. Hanley Ramirez had two doubles, two RBI and a pair of runs scored, while Yasiel Puig finished 4-for-5 with an RBI for the Dodgers, winners in three of their last four games.

Hyun-Jin Ryu (13-5) allowed just one run on eight hits while fanning six over 6 1/3 innings to snap a two-start losing skid.

'He was really good,' Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said of Ryu. 'He came out with a purpose.'

With the win and an Arizona loss, the Dodgers extended their lead atop the NL West to 10 1/2 games.

Logan Forsythe and Chris Denorfia drove in one run apiece for San Diego, losers in three of their last four.

Eric Stults (8-12) was pegged with the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.

San Diego has split 14 matchups with the Dodgers this season.
