Philadelphia Phillies @ Miami Marlins

Scheduled Start Time: 7:10 PM ET

Marlins Park

(Sports Network) - Former Philadelphia staff ace Roy Halladay can deal Miami its 100th loss of the season on Monday night when the Phillies visit the Marlins to open a three-game series.

Halladay is 9-5 in 17 career starts against the Marlins, including a 6-4 victory in his most recent start on Sept. 17 in Philadelphia.

In that game, the former three-time 20-game winner allowed a single run on four hits in six innings, while walking three and striking out two.

It was his second win in five starts since returning from an extended stretch on the disabled list.

He was 2-4 with an 8.65 earned run average in 34 1/3 innings before the hiatus, but has trimmed the ERA to 6.71 and allowed 14 runs in 27 1/3 innings since.

Texas-born righty Nathan Eovaldi makes his sixth career start against the Phillies in search of his initial victory.

The 23-year-old is 0-4 in the first five tries, with the most recent start on Sept. 18 resulting in a no-decision after he allowed three runs in five innings of a game the Marlins won, 4-3.

In 25 combined innings against Philadelphia, he's allowed 17 runs in 32 hits while walking 12 batters and striking out 20.

In seven starts this season in Miami, Eovaldi had won just once and carries a 5.21 ERA through 38 innings.

On Sunday in Philadelphia, Wilfredo Tovar plated the most important runs of the game in his Major League debut, with his go-ahead single in the seventh helping the New York Mets to a 4-3 victory and a three-game series sweep of the Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.

Dominic Brown, Darin Ruf and Kevin Frandsen each knocked in a run for the Phillies, who had removed the interim tag from manager Ryne Sandberg prior to the game and rewarded the skipper with a three-year contract extension.

Cliff Lee (14-7) struck out eight but took the loss, charged with three runs -- two earned -- on eight hits over seven innings of work.

In Washington, Wilson Ramos' ninth-inning grounder bounced off the leg of third baseman Chris Coghlan, allowing pinch-runner Eury Perez to score from third and give the Nationals a 5-4 win over the Marlins to split a doubleheader.

Giancarlo Stanton registered two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Marlins, who have dropped seven of their last nine tilts. Stanton hit a two- run homer and Christian Yelich added a solo shot as the Marlins downed the Nationals in the opener of the twin bill.

The Phillies won 11 of their first 16 games this season with the Marlins, a year after winning the 2012 season series, 10-8.
