Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Francisco Giants

Scheduled Start Time: 10:15 PM ET

AT&T Park

(SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks may be running out of patience with Randall Delgado.

He'll get another chance to prove his worth on Thursday, as he tries to pitch the D'backs to a series win in the rubber match of a three-game set against the San Francisco Giants at AT&T Park.

Delgado pitched two-thirds of an inning of scoreless relief for Arizona in Australia, but was rocked by the Colorado Rockies in his first start on Friday to the tune of six runs and 10 hits in four innings.

Over his last five starts dating back to last season Delgado is 1-3 with an 8.10 ERA.

'Fastball command is essential to everybody,' Arizona manager Kirk Gibson said of Delgado, who is pitching to an 11.57 ERA this year. 'Randall couldn't do it. We were trying to get the ball to certain places and we couldn't get it there.'

Gibson has stated in recent days that he may consider moving Josh Collmenter into the rotation if things don't improve.

'Obviously things have not been going as we planned,' Gibson said. 'We're better than this and we can't keep going on in this fashion.'

San Francisco, though, could be the perfect remedy for the 24-year-old right- hander, who is 1-1 with a 0.96 ERA in three starts versus the Giants.

San Francisco, meanwhile, will counter with righty Ryan Vogelsong, who did not get a decision on Friday against the Los Angeles Dodgers, despite being staked to an early eight run lead. Vogelsong was unable to pitch the necessary five inning for the win, as he gave up four runs and seven hits in only four innings of work.

Vogelsong is 2-4 with a 4.48 ERA in 16 games (10 starts).

Arizona managed its third win of the season on Wednesday, as Paul Goldschmidt belted his second homer of the season and drove in four runs to help the D'backs to a 7-3 victory.

Goldschmidt's three-run shot in the first inning gave Bronson Arroyo (1-0) some early run support, and his sacrifice fly in the third proved to be the difference. Arroyo went five innings, allowing three runs on six hits. Collmenter relieved the Arizona starter and went the rest of the way, tossing four scoreless innings for his first career save.

Gerardo Parra also homered and finished with three hits, three runs scored and two RBI for the Diamondbacks, who won for only the second time in six chances against the Giants this season.

San Francisco got home runs by Michael Morse and Buster Posey, but former Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum (0-1) was smoked for seven runs on seven hits in just four innings.

'He was really off all night,' Giants manager Bruce Bochy said of Lincecum. 'It was pretty evident.'
