Cox was ejected from the NLDS Game 2 vs. the Giants at AT&T Park by first base umpire Paul Emmel during the first inning on Oct. 8, 2010 in San Francisco. He was the third manager ejected in the first three days of the postseason.

Atlanta Braves manager Bobby Cox retired following the 2010 season after 42-year career in baseball. He played only two seasons before embarking on an impressive managerial career. After six years as a minor-league manager for the Yankees, he managed in the majors for 32 years, mostly with the Atlanta Braves (1978-1981 and 1990-present). In between he managed for the Toronto Blue Jays (1982-85). He ranks fourth on the all-time mangerial wins list, behind Connie Mack, John McGraw and Tony La Russa. He also holds the all-time major league record for ejections. His Braves won 14 consecutive division titles and he led the Braves to the World Series title in 1995.
