Rose became the 13th player to reach the milestone, knocking a single against the Montreal Expos for No. 3,000. Rose ended his career with an astounding 4,256 total hits, most all-time. He received a lifetime ban from baseball in 1989 for his role in betting on games and has been barred from consideration for the Hall of Fame.

George Brett played his entire 21-year career for the same team, the Kansas City Royals. He holds the record for most career hits by a third baseman with 3,154, a number that puts him 15th on the all-time list. In 1999, Brett was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

One of the least-known players on the list, Waner was an MVP in 1927 and recorded over 200 hits in a season eight times. He got his 3,000th as a member of the Boston Braves. He was the only player to accomplish the feat between 1925 and 1958.
