Matt Kemp receieved the 2011 National Lague Hank Aaron Award given to the league's most outstanding offensive player. Blue Jays OF Jose Bautista was the AL recipient.

The Dodgers center fielder Matt Kemp had a career-year in 2011, finishing second in NL MVP voting to Brewers CF Ryan Braun. Had the Dodgers been in contention that year, he probably would have won the award. He's a two-time All-Star with two Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger awards. He's the first player to win three consecutive Player of the Week awards. He started off 2012 strongly, but his season has been marred by injury.

Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard  achieved both the 100-homer and 200-homer milestones quicker than anyone in history. His  100th HR came at age 27, on June 27, 2007, in his 325th game, topping Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner by 60 games. At age 29, Howard reached the 200-homer plateau vs. the Marlins, on July 16, 2009. It came in his 658th career game, beating Kiner, again, by 48 games. Although sidelined with injury most of 2012, Howard is flirting with the 300-homer milestone.

Ryan Howard found MLB success early. He was the 2005 NL Rookie of the Year. He followed up his outstanding rookie campaign by being selected as the 2006 NL MVP. He's a three-time All-Star, has won a Silver Slugger award and won a World Series with the Phillies in 2008. He was the NLCS MVP in 2009.

At 6-3 and 215 pounds, Colorado Rockies' Troy Tulowitzki is large for a shortstop, but he's known for his dazzling defense, such as this play. On April 29, 2007, vs. the Braves, Tulo made an unassisted triple play. Chipper Jones hit a line drive at the SS, who snared the ball in flight, stepped on second to double up Kelly Johnson, and tagged Edgar Renteria between first and second. He's no slouch at the plate either; he hit for the cycle on Aug. 10, 2009.

Troy Tulowitzki made his debut with the Colorado Rockies in 2006 and quickly became in impact player. The dueces are wild for Tulo — he's a two-time All-Star with two Gold Gloves and two Silver Slugger awards. He's been out with an injury for a large portion of this season and his team has suffered for it.

Felix Hernandez is already pitching royalty at a tender age, thus his nickname, King Felix. He's a three-time All-Star and won the 2010 AL Cy Young award. Earlier this season, he achieved his dream of throwing a perfect game, when he blanked the Rays.

Atlanta Braves' switch-hitting third baseman Chipper Jones, who turns 40 later this month, has announced he will retire after the 2012 season. He's an eight-time All-Star, two-time Silver Slugger award winner, won a World Series in 1995 and was the NL MVP in 1999. He has played his entire career with the Atlanta Braves.

Albert Pujols had a historic night in Game 3 of the 2011 World Series, socking three homers (tying the World Series record set by Babe Ruth and matched by Reggie Jackson) and going 5-for-6 with six RBI (tying a World Series record). The St. Louis slugger also had 14 total bases (a World Series record) to lead the Cards to a 16-7 rout of the Rangers.

He's appeared in nine All-Star Games, won six Silver Sluggers and two Gold Gloves and is a three-time NL MVP. He won the World Series with the Cards in 2006 and 2011 and was the NLCS MVP in 2004.
