How will the long layoff affect the Phils?
Since the Phillies ousted the Dodgers in just five games, they'll enjoy a full week off before the start of the World Series. That'll make them either thoroughly rested or thoroughly rusted. Recent history suggests it can go either way. In 2005, the White Sox had six days off between the final out of the ALCS and the beginning of the World Series, and they went on to sweep the Astros. The next year, however, the Tigers had a full week off and then promptly lost to the Cardinals in five.
