News: Santiago was dealt his third loss of the season Sunday, allowing five walks, two hits and two unearned runs with seven strikeouts. Impact: Santiago has now given up just one earned run over his last two starts, but has failed to pick up a win in either outing. His season-high five walks were the only concerning part of this start, as it led to him needing 119 total pitches to get through 5.2 innings. He'll take a 3.68 ERA into his next scheduled start at Yankee Stadium.(RotoWire, )

News: Santiago looked sharp against the A's on Monday, allowing just a solo home run and five hits in seven innings pitched while striking out three en route to a no-decision. Impact: Santiago deserved better on this night, as he pitched out of some really tough situations to keep the Angels ahead 2-1 through seven innings, but a two-run homer by John Jaso in the ninth cost Santiago and the Haols the win. Santiago had to be encouraged by his outing Monday, as he walked just one batter after handing out six free passes in his first two starts (9.1 innings) of the season. Santiago will look to build on his impressive performance when he takes on the Tigers on Sunday.(RotoWire, )

News: Santiago was hammered in a loss against the Mariners on Tuesday, allowing four runs (including a home run) on five hits in 4.1 innings while striking out six batters. Impact: Santiago may have salvaged something, from a fantasy perspective, with his strikeout total Tuesday, but turned in his second consecutive underwhelming performance against the Mariners. The hard-throwing lefty looked strong out of the gate, pitching two scoreless innings to open the contest, but didn't stick around long after giving up four runs in the third. Santiago will likely always have the ability to strike hitters out, but he needs to do more than that to be considered anything other than a streaming option. He will try to turn things around in his next start Monday against the A's.(RotoWire, )
