News: Straily was terrible Tuesday. Impact: Straily was the first A's starter to give up more than three earned runs all season, yielding seven hits and six runs. The right-hander gave up more than three runs for the first time in nine starts since last Aug. 28. Start him in his next outing against the lowly Astros.(STATS, 12:13pm)

News: Straily lasted just 3.2 innings Tuesday, as the Angels got to him early with six earned runs on seven hits -- including a two-run roundtripper by the Angels' Kole Calhoun in the fourth that ended his night. Impact: He avoided the loss thanks to a late-game rally by the A's offense, but that hardly lessens the blow for a poor performance that owners will want to quickly forget. One potential early-season cause for concern is that Straily has already served up four homers in less than 17 innings of work, after giving up just 16 in 152 innings last season. Hopefully he can keep the ball in the yard more often as the season progresses, otherwise his numbers will inevitably take a beating.(RotoWire, )

News: Straily (1-1) had a strong outing on Thursday, earning a win against the Twins while allowing only one earned run over seven innings. Impact: Straily only allowed three hits and two walks while striking out five Twins. He has started the season well, delivering back-to-back quality outings. Straily's scheduled to go against the Angels in Anaheim on Tuesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Straily pitched well in a loss to the Mariners on Saturday, allowing three earned runs over six innings while striking out seven. Impact: Straily allowed two home runs in the fifth inning to account for all the damage. He went against Felix Hernandez, so his shot at a win was gone after that one poor inning. Straily will likely next pitch next Friday at Seattle.(RotoWire, )

News: Straily's scheduled start Friday was postponed due to wet field conditions, and he'll now take the ball Saturday afternoon instead, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. Impact: He will still oppose Mariners ace Felix Hernandez, while the two teams are not expected to play a doubleheader even though the O.co field conditions are supposed to be improved in time for Saturday's matinee.(RotoWire, )
