News: Encarnacion hit his first home run of the season Tuesday, a three-run shot off Miguel Gonzalez, for his only hit of the night. Impact: The power has been late to the party this year for Encarnacion, but the season is still young, and he should still hit for plenty of pop over the final five months. The major factor in the early going for Encarnacion is his unusually high K-rate. He's striking out in 22.9 percent of at-bats this season, compared to 10 percent in 2013, and 15.9 percent for his career. If he can be a more patient hitter, it would stand to reason his other numbers would all benefit across the board.(RotoWire, )

News: Encarnacion went 1-for-4 with a run in Friday's 2-0 win over the Orioles. Impact: Encarnacion is 7-for-41 and has yet to hit a homer or drive in a run, but he has scored five times and stolen a base. Given what he did the last two seasons, the slow start isn't particularly concerning.(RotoWire, )
