News: Butler went 0-for-4 in the Royals' loss to Cleveland on Monday night. Impact: Butler had been riding a five-game hit streak before Monday's dud. The DH is hitting a paltry .200 on the season, but his bat should warm up eventually. Butler is a career .297 hitter through his eight-year career.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler was 2-for-4 with two singles and a strikeout Friday. Impact: After a cold start to the year, Butler has been hitting better, as he's now riding a five-game hitting streak and has two consecutive multi-hit games. This is an impressive turnaround, as he recorded hits in just six of his first 12 games. Butler's recent hot hitting has led to speculation that manager Ned Yost may move him back up to the cleanup spot in place of the struggling Salvador Perez, but nothing official has been announced yet.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Twins. Impact: In three games since dropping down to the six-hole in the lineup, Butler is 4-for-10 with a double, two walks, and one strikeout. Saturday's two-base knock was his first extra-base hit of the season, but he'll likely move back up in the lineup soon enough.(RotoWire, )

News: Royals manager Ned Yost said Thursday that he's going to drop Butler to the six-hole in the batting order, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Radio reports. Impact: Butler has been unable to get anything going at the dish thus far, as he's just 7-for-47 (.149 average) with zero extra-base hits and five RBI through 13 games. Moreover, he has just one base knock in his last 20 trips to the plate, so Yost will move him out of the cleanup spot for the time being. Salvador Perez seems like the most likely candidate to move up to the four-spot.(RotoWire, )

News: Butler was unable to break out of his slump Sunday, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the Royals' loss to the Twins. Impact: Butler is now hitless in his last three games and just 6-for-39 to start the season, which is good for a measly .154 average. He has yet to hit a home run in 2014, and has just one homer in his last 41 games dating back to last season. The Royals are dead last in runs scored in the American League and Butler is doing little to help.(RotoWire, )
