News: Slowey has officially been announced as the starter for Sunday's game against the Mariners,'s Joe Frisaro reports. Impact: Slowey had posted a 4.38 ERA in 12.1 innings out of the bullpen so far this season, and those numbers don't figure to improve by much in the starting rotation, as he hasn't posted a sub-4.00 ERA as a starter since the 2008 season. News: Slowey is likely to get the start Sunday against the Mariners, reports. Impact: Nothing has been made official, but Brad Hand has struggled through his first two starts replacing Jacob Turner (shoulder) in the rotation. Slowey has not been spectacular out of the bullpen so far, holding a 4.38 ERA and 7:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio over 12.1 inning pitched, but did pitch well in the spring while competing for the fifth starter role. Slowey's stay in the rotation may be short lived regardless of how he performs as Jacob Turner has begun throwing off of flat ground as he makes his way back to health.(RotoWire, )
