News: Hudson only gave up five hits and no walks over 7.1 innings Sunday, but he was charged with four runs and did not factor in the decision against the Rockies. Impact: Hudson was very efficient on the mound Sunday, needing only 85 pitches (59 strikes) to get through 7.1 innings. When the Rockies did get to him, they hit him hard (two homers, two doubles), but it was still an effective start from a fantasy perspective. Hudson will look to continue his strong start to the season (2.35 ERA and no walks in 23 innings) against the Padres on Saturday.(RotoWire, )

News: Hudson turned in eight strong innings in a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. He allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits and zero walks, while striking out four over eight innings. Impact: The Diamondbacks saw Hudson for the second time in seven days Tuesday, but again failed to muster much offense, allowing the 38-year-old to walk away with his second win of the season. Hudson is off to a great start, and has shown no ill effects of the broken ankle that ended his 2013 season prematurely.(RotoWire, )

News: Hudson allowed three hits while working into the eighth inning in his first start for the Giants and San Francisco beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 2-0 on Wednesday night. Impact: Hudson (1-0) was making his first start since July 24 after fracturing his right ankle against the Mets while pitching for the Braves. The veteran right-hander, who signed with San Francisco as a free agent in the offseason, had four strikeouts and no walks, and had Arizona hitters pounding the ball into the ground. "After a couple of month from my surgery, I know coming back was a definite possibility," Hudson said. "You get anxious but I wouldn't call it butterflies. You just anxious to get back out there."(STATS, 5:46pm)
