News: Beltre (quad) has been placed on the 15-day DL, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports. Impact: The move is retroactive to April 9, making Beltre eligible to return April 24 if the injury subsides over the next two weeks. Hector Noesi is taking Beltre's roster spot for Sunday's game against Houston, while Kevin Kouzmanoff will continue to see extra playing time at third base while Beltre is sidelined.(RotoWire, )

News: GM Jon Daniels said Saturday that the Rangers are leaning toward placing Beltre (quadriceps) on the DL, Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Impact: The team indicated earlier in the week that they had no immediate plans to place Beltre on the disabled list, but Daniels is now leaning the other way. It may be wise to just give Beltre the 15 days and hope he's ready for the long haul when he returns, rather than allow him to play and risk letting the quad issue linger.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre (quadriceps) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Astros. Impact: Beltre will miss a third straight start with the quad injury and again be replaced at third base by Kevin Kouzmanoff. A Thursday report indicated that the Rangers had "no immediate plans" to place Beltre on the disabled list, but if the 35-year-old can't make it back by the middle of next week or so, the club may have to start giving some consideration to a roster move.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre (quad) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Astros. Impact: Beltre is apparently still a little sore despite a team off day Thurday, so he will miss his second game in a row Friday. The Rangers said Thursday they are not planning to place Beltre on the disabled list as of now, so there's a chance he could still return to action sometime this weekend. Kevin Kouzmanoff will man the hot corner in his place Friday night.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre (qudriceps) is not expected to be placed on the disabled list any time soon, Anthony Andros of FOX Sports Southwest reports. Impact: Beltre recently had an MRI on his left quad, which revealed a strain that wasn't as bad as the team had originally thought. It's a Grade 1 strain, which is the mildest classification, so Beltre will likely miss just a few games before returning to the lineup. Fantasy owners can breathe a sigh of relief.(RotoWire, )

News: As expected, Beltre (quad) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Red Sox, Rangers VP of Comm. John Blake reports. Impact: Beltre will sit out Wednesday, and possibly longer, with the quad injury he suffered in Tuesday's game. An update on Beltre's outlook will be posted when more details become available, but Josh Wilson will man the hot corner in his place Wednesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre was hoping to get back in the lineup for Texas Rangers this week before being told he was going on the disabled list because of a strained left quadriceps. The DL move was retroactive to last Wednesday. The earliest he will be eligible to be activated is April 24, an off day for the Rangers. Impact: Beltre said Monday that he didn't agree with the team putting him on the disabled list a day earlier. The third baseman says he had no say in the decision, but also acknowledged it was probably a smart move. He says he was ready to play Tuesday, a week after coming out of a game at Boston and returning home for an evaluation. Beltre managed to avoid hamstring issues last season, playing 161 games. News: Beltre, who left Tuesday's game with a tight quad, will not play Wednesday, and could perhaps miss even more time, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports. He will return to Texas to have his sore left quadriceps muscle examined by team physician Dr. Keith Meister, which should include an MRI exam. Impact: Apparently the quadriceps soreness was in a different location than the soreness he dealt with in the spring, but the Rangers, including Beltre, where in no hurry to discuss the ailment after the game. If he is forced to the DL, Kevin Kouzmanoff could be called up from Triple-A Round Rock to man the hot corner.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre hobbled off the field after hitting a RBI double in the fourth inning Tuesday and is done for the night, MLB.com's Ian Browne reports. Impact: Beltre is always going to move a little gingerly because of the tightness and scar tissue in his left quad/leg, and with the Rangers up 8-1 over the Red Sox after four innings, it seemed like an opportune time to take him out. Consider him day-to-day, but we'd expect him to play through the pain as a DH if he can.(RotoWire, )

News: Beltre recorded his first two RBIs of 2014 on Tuesday against the Phillies for Texas. Impact: Beltre dipped to 92 RBIs a year ago so hopefully he can get back on track.(STATS, 5:33pm)

News: Beltre was 2 for 3 and doubled in Texas' Opening Day loss to the Phillies. Impact: Beltre, who also walked Monday, is off to a good start as he seeks a .315-plus batting average for the fourth time in five seasons.(STATS, 5:29pm)
