News: Espinosa went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Impact: Denard Span's sacrifice fly plated Espinosa for the winning run, allowing the Nationals to claim two contests during the four-game series. Espinosa was one of the bigger disappointments in fantasy circles last season, but he's been of great value to the Nationals since Ryan Zimmerman succumbed to injury. Zimmeman's move to the DL has opened up an everyday lineup spot for Espinosa, who is making the most of it with a .313 batting average on the young season.(RotoWire, )

News: Espinosa went 1-for-4 Saturday with a solo home run, his first blast of the season. Impact: His plate discipline is unfortunately returning to normal, and he's struck out at least once in six straight games to give him a 2:11 BB:K ratio through his first 44 at-bats. Seven of his 12 hits have gone for extra bases though, and the Nationals (and Espinosa's fantasy owners) would be very happy if he can maintain his current .273/.319/.500 slash line.(RotoWire, )

News: Espinosa came in to play second base Saturday after Ryan Zimmerman left the game, going 1-for-2. Impact: With Zimmerman now out 4-6 weeks with a broken thumb, Espinosa will likely be the starter at second base as Anthony Rendon slides over to third. If he's available as a free agent, Espinosa's still got nice power/speed upside and has shown much better contact and plate discipline (2:3 BB:K ratio in 19 at-bats) to go along with a .316/.381/.474 line so far in 2014. Grab him now.(RotoWire, )
