Actually, I believe Bay has mentioned he would like to play for Seattle as that is closer to his hometown in Canada than Toronto would be. But he also mentioned at the same time he would really like to continue playing for the Sox. Probably just a business move to throw in some other teams in order to help drive up an offer, but if he doesn't end up with Boston, there is a good chance he will be playing in Seattle. Should Seatle pursue him. He's become a favorite of Sox fans.

To Claz:

Jason Bay's agent is Joe Urbon, a former baseball player.

Who Bay will eventually sign with is anybody's guess at the moment. I believe Jason has developed his short list of clubs he could sign with, including Boston. I don't believe that Jason will make his list known, even to his agent. Let the agent work independently and see what he comes up with. If one or two interested clubs happen to be on Bay's short list, so much the better.

I also believe that the Toronto Blue Jays will be in the hunt. They have the means to pay Jason and I believe they would be on Jason's short list. The problem would be the extra tax burden for playing in Canada. Again, in my opinion, the Yankees are not on his short list but their bidding will drive up the price for the team that will eventually sign Jason.

Who is Bay's agent? Will the Sox sign him?

As a person who used to root for the Pittsburgh Pirates, when we once had a baseball team, I must say how delighted I am with Bays performance with the Red Sox, I wish Him and his team the best of luck, and now have someone to root for in the A.L. plus I really never cared for the Yankees anyway. Hope you guys have a great season.

Bay just keeps impressing me. Especially in the later innings. He has been so cluch and instumental in many of Boston's wins.

something tells me Manny wont have the numbers to compete with Bay again this season.

Teixeira: batting average:209!

Being an upgrade from Manny is an understatement today!!! Boston management is awesome. They were smart to pass on the other expensive player $20 million/yr that went to NY who's batting average is just over 200.

Upgrade at LF for us defensively, and probably as good offensively as that other guy was. Glad to see that other guy is happy though, no ill feelings toward the guy it was just time to move on. Predict both guys will be well over .300, 35-40 HRs and 130+ RBI this season. Love seeing this guy batting cleanup, even though he's probably better off as a 3 guy. Either way, with Ellsbury batting leadoff, he's going to get a ton of RBI chances and he seems to be taking advatange of those opportunities. And somehow, the Pirates ended up being much better this year too. Everyone won in this deal.

Bay was a .290 30 100 guy for the Pirates with no supporting cast, now he has that supporting cast. IMO he is an upgrade from Manny.

Every game Bay plays makes me forget about that guy that used to play in Left field. What was his name again? Manny or somethin like that.

Bay is a clutch hitter, with power and a good eye at the plate. He's capable of hitting 35+ homers a season and producing 130+ RBI'S. He will score 120+.

The Sox should move him up in the lineup to 3rd or 5th. He's experienced (Pittsburg) hitting in those positions.

The move would mean more walks, more RBI'S and more RBI opportunities for Youk.

Bay is a class act, on or off the field. I predict he will lead the Sox, or be second, in most offensive categories, Hr's, Rbi's, Runs scored, Walks.

I can't believe that someone brings up racism calling the sox white as rice. What about the NBA teams with no whites? Get over it. There's a black President now, time to trash all those Equal Opportunity laws.

The best of Jason Bay has yet to come. While he made a significant contribution to the sox and their bid for two world series in a row, he still hasn't hit the green monster. As he gets to know the pitchers and the league be on the lookout for a number of dents on the Green monster.
