News: Lind (foot) is now expected to miss only 2-to-3 weeks, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports. Impact: Initially handed a 6-to-8 week estimate after being diagnosed with a non-displaced fracture in his right foot, Lind had his timetable virtually cut in half after a follow-up exam with Dr. Robert Anderson. The 30-year-old Lind will be confined to a boot for approximately a week, but if his rehab goes off without a hitch, he could be back with the Blue Jays by late July or early August.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind (foot) was placed on the 15-day DL on Friday. Impact: Lind is expected to miss 6-8 weeks due to a non-displaced fracture in his right foot, so his movement to the disabled list comes as no surprise. He'll rest and rehab the broken foot until roughly September, with the hopes of returning to help the Blue Jays with a potential postseason run. Look for Juan Francisco, Jose Bautista and Nolan Reimold to split reps as the DH slot in Lind's absence. Dan Johnson was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo in a corresponding move, and could see some reps at first base while Lind is on the shelf.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is headed to the disabled list because of a fractured toe. Impact: The injury originally was diagnosed as a bruise, but it was later declared a broken toe.(STATS, 1:56am)

News: Lind says he's likely out 6-8 weeks after suffering a non-displaced fracture in his right foot, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. Impact: Lind's mother apparently nudged him into getting the MRI on Wednesday, which revealed the fracture. He hasn't been in the lineup for the last two games, so he may have suffered the injury during Monday's contest. Juan Francisco, Jose Bautista and Nolan Reimold are all options to slot in at DH over the next two months, and the Jays should place Lind on the DL soon.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is out of the lineup Tuesday. Impact: It was announced Monday that Lind will be a part-time player for the time being, sitting against southpaws due to a .071 average against them this season. Dioner Navarro will start at DH Tuesday, but Cole Gillespie also figures to get some starts at DH against lefties.(RotoWire, )
Mon. July 7, 2014
News: Lind and Cole Gillespie will be in a platoon at designated hitter until one of them gets hot, according to manager John Gibbons, MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm reports. Impact: This comes as no surprise, as Lind's splits this season are cavernous. He's crushing righties to the tune of a .377 batting average, while posting an .071 average against southpaws, so it's probably for the best that he takes the strong side of a platoon in leagues that factor in batting average.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is playing despite a sore foot, SportsNet.CA reports. Impact: Lind had to replace Edwin Encarnacion on Saturday after Encarnacion injured his quad, forcing him in there against a tough lefty in Scott Kazmir. Lind could be in line for extra playing time if Encarnacion needs a DL trip, which is expected.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is not in the lineup Saturday against the A's, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports. Impact: With Jose Bautista serving as DH and Edwin Encarnacion starting at first base, the Jays don't have anywhere to put Lind. They tried Encarnacion in left field Friday night, and he was clearly in over his head. Until Bautista's hamstring is in decent enough shape that he's able to play the field, Lind will likely lose out on some at-bats.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is out of the lineup Friday against the Athletics, Sportsnet's Barry Davis reports. Impact: Lefty Tommy Milone is taking the hill for the Athletics on Friday, resulting in the absence of Lind and Juan Francisco from the lineup. The Blue Jays try to shield Lind from lefties as much as possible, as he's batting just 2-for-25 (.080) against them this season.(RotoWire, )
Tue. July 1, 2014
News: Lind is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Brewers, according to Sportsnet's Shi Davidi. Impact: The Blue Jays will use Jose Bautista as the DH Tuesday as he returns from a hamstring injury, so Lind will get the day off. He figures to return to the lineup once Bautista is cleared to resume playing outfield, which could be as early as Wednesday.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is out of the Blue Jays' lineup again Saturday. Impact: It's a second straight game on the bench for Lind, but there's been nothing to suggest an injury is in play. Rather, it seems manager John Gibbons is just shielding Lind from another lefty, this time an extremely tough one in Chris Sale.(RotoWire, )

News: Lind is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox, Barry Davis of Sportsnet.ca reports. Impact: Manager John Gibbons will sit Lind down against left-hander John Danks and instead put the DH tag on Dioner Navarro. Lind recently missed time with a foot injury, but he's shown no ill effects in his last four games, going 6-for-16 with a homer and seven RBI.(RotoWire, )
