News: Manager Mike Scioscia said Saturday that Pujols was dealing with a bruised left heal during the opening week of the season, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: This may explain why Pujols began the season 4-for-21 (.190) with no home runs, but Scioscia said that the 34-year-old's heal is "not an issue" anymore. Pujols came into the contest against the Tigers on Saturday with a .920 OPS and five home runs, but for fantasy owners, the ailment may turn into another health concern to monitor down the stretch.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in a loss to the Tigers on Saturday. Impact: Pujols struggled against starter Max Scherzer (as did most of the Angels' lineup), but connected on a first pitch fastball off of Joe Nathan in the ninth inning to record his sixth home run of the season. Pujols looks very comfortable at the plate so far this season, and now has 498 career home runs.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols had a big night at the plate Friday, going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run, a double and two runs scored in a win over the Tigers. Impact: After an 0-5 detour in Oakland on Tuesday, the Pujols train has resumed rolling, as the 34-year old is 5-for-9 with four RBI over his last two games. It seems safer to declare that Pujols is back with each passing day, as he reached his fifth home run of the season in his 68th at-bat Friday.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols stayed hot with two more hits and another homer in Monday's 3-2 loss to Oakland. Impact: Pujols is batting .333 with four homers and eight RBIs in his last six games. He clearly still has plenty left in the tank.(STATS, 5:38pm)

News: Pujols went 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in a loss to the A's on Monday. Impact: Pujols continued tearing the cover off the ball Monday, as he now has a 10-game hitting streak, including four home runs in his last six games. The 34-year-old seems intent on showing what he can do when he is healthy, as he has an .878 OPS, and is tied for second in the American League with four homers.(RotoWire, )

News: Mike Trout, Pujols and Raul Ibanez hit consecutive home runs off Bartolo Colon in the first inning, setting the tone for the Los Angeles Angels' 14-2 rout of the New York Mets on Sunday in the decisive game of their interleague series. Impact: It was the third homer in five games for Pujols, who has 495 in his career. He also extended his hit streak to nine games with the solo shot.(STATS, 6:27pm)

News: Pujols went 1-for-4 with a homer and a walk in a win over the Mets on Sunday. Impact: Pujols was the middleman in an attack which saw the Angels launch three home runs in the first inning off Bartolo Colon on Sunday. Pujols now has three home runs in his last five games, and at least one hit in nine consecutive games. The 34-year-old appears to be heating up, despite hitting just .240 in his first 50 at-bats this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols will be the designated hitter for the Angels against the Mets on Sunday, Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register reports. Impact: Pujols will DH for the second time in four games after saying during the offseason that he would play most of his games at first base. There may or may not be an issue here, but it will be incumbent upon fantasy owners to track Pujols' health carefully after he played in just 99 games in 2013 due to plantar fasciitis.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols homered for the second straight game as the Angels beat the Seattle Mariners 2-0 on Wednesday night. Impact: Pujols is enjoying himself with four RBIs in his last two games as he looks to prove the fantasy naysayers wrong.(STATS, 4:28pm)
Wed. Apr 9, 2014
News: Pujols went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer in a win over the Mariners on Wednesday. Impact: Much has been made of what seems like another slow start for Pujols, but it seems as though he's beginning to hit the gas, as he hit his second home run in as many nights Wednesday to give the Angels an early lead they would not relinquish. Pujols is now sporting an .835 OPS this season, which, if nothing else, should highlight how silly it is to worry about statistics this early, as his OPS was .723 prior to Wednesday's contest.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols hit a two-run homer in Tuesday's 5-3 loss at Seattle. Impact: While Pujols is just 7 for 32 to start the season, five of those hits have gone for extra bases.(STATS, 9:37pm)
Tue. Apr 8, 2014
News: Pujols hit a milestone in his career Tuesday, becoming just the second current player to tally 1,500 or more RBI after hitting a two-run homer in the first inning of a loss to the Mariners. Impact: Pujols, who has 1,501 RBI after hitting his first home run of the season Tuesday, is the only active player who can boast membership to this exclusive club, as Alex Rodriguez is currently serving a 162-game suspension for violation of MLB's joint drug policy. The home run was part of a back-to-back set with third baseman David Freese, which would be the only scoring for the Angels in the contest.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's game against the Astros. Impact: A minor right arm injury surfaced for Pujols during Saturday's game, but he played through it and didn't seem to have any limitations Sunday. Pujols is 5-for-25 (.200) with an RBI through six games this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Pujols was "dinged up" with a right arm injury Saturday but remained in the game, according to Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reports. Impact: Pujols should be back in the lineup Sunday, according to Gonzalez. He went 1-for-4 with a double and a strikeout Saturday. His early-season line is nothing impressive, but it would be a positive sign for him to make it through the entire full first week of the season without needing to sit given his recent injury history.(RotoWire, )
