News: Escobar was 1-for-3 with three RBI in Monday's 4-2 victory over the Rays. Impact: Escobar gave the Royals a surge in the bottom of the sixth, launching a three-run double that put them ahead of the Rays, 4-0. Escobar has hit ninth in the order in every game this season, but with Omar Infante (mouth) set to miss a few days, there's a chance he could move up to second, where he has experience hitting in the past. This could allow Escobar a few more opportunities to produce for fantasy owners, and potentially help him break out of his early season slump.(RotoWire, )

News: Escobar collected his first hit of the season Sunday, going 1-for-3 at the plate against Chris Sale and the White Sox. Impact: Escobar showed some promise this spring by posting a .310 batting average, but is just 1-for-17 to open his 2014 campaign. Fantasy owners generally rely on him for his speed more than his bat, but he'll need to get on base first if he plans on having his fourth straight season with 20 or more steals. His solid defense will keep him as a fixture in the Royals' lineup however, so Escobar should see plenty of opportunities to turn around his early-season slump.(RotoWire, )
