News: De Aza could be a candidate for more consistent playing time, as Avisail Garcia will miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum. Impact: De Aza had been off to a hot start, hitting three home runs in his first three games, but has gone 0-for-11 in five game since then. He'd been out of the lineup for two consecutive days, but is in Thursday's lineup, and should see more playing time in left field moving forward. The White Sox recalled Jordan Danks on Thursday, who also should see some playing time at the big-league level. Danks, De Aza and Dayan Viciedo will essentially compete for two spots.(RotoWire, )

News: De Aza is out of the lineup for the second consecutive game Wednesday. Impact: While De Aza's absence from the lineup Tuesday wasn't particularly surprising with lefty Franklin Morales starting for the Rockies, it's a bit more peculiar Wednesday, since right-hander Juan Nicasio will be the opposing starter. Perhaps manager Robin Ventura simply wanted to stick with the same lineup that put up 15 runs on 19 hits in Tuesday's blowout victory.(RotoWire, )

News: De Aza isn't in the White Sox's lineup Tuesday in Colorado, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: De Aza will yield left field to Dayan Viciedo for the second time in three games. After accumulating four hits, including three long balls, in his first 11 at-bats, De Aza has since gone hitless in 10 at-bats, displaying his streakiness.(RotoWire, )

News: De Aza hit his third homer of the season in Thursday's 10-9 loss to Minnesota. Impact: De Aza smacked just 26 homers over his previous two seasons, but he's showing some serious pop early in 2014. Things weren't looking great for De Aza in the spring, as he was the subject of trade rumors and facing a platoon situation with Dayan Viciedo. De Aza has received all three starts in left field so far this year, although the opposing starting pitcher has been a righty in all three games. A platoon situation is still likely, and our guess is that Viciedo will start against most lefties, but that could change if De Aza stays hot. For what it's worth, the White Sox are scheduled to face just two southpaws over their next 10 games.(RotoWire, )

News: De Aza hit two homers in Monday's season-opening 5-3 win over the Minnesota Twins. Impact: After belting a two-run shot in the second inning, De Aza went deep again in the sixth for his first career multihomer game. It was also the first for Chicago on opening day since Jim Thome at Cleveland in 2008, and the first by a White Sox player in a season opener at home since 1960, when Minnie Minoso hit two against the Kansas City Athletics.(STATS, 4:19pm)
