News: The Brewers transferred Gonzalez (knee) to the 60-day disabled list Wednesday, Brewers Media Relations Director Mike Vassallo reports. Impact: Gonzalez is expected to miss the rest of the season due to a torn ACL, so the move to the longer list won't affect his status for the current campaign. Cody Ransom, claimed off waivers from the Diamondbacks, will take Gonzalez's spot on the 40-man roster.(RotoWire, )

News: Gonzalez (knee) had surgery Thursday on his right ACL and faces a six-month recovery process, MLB.com reports. Impact: Gonzalez's fate with the Brewers going forward is in the team's hands, as they can elect to pick up his option for next season. With few promising shortstops in the minor league system, the Brewers could elect to bring Gonzalez back, but at 35 years old and coming off a major surgery, the team will more than likely pursue other options.(RotoWire, )
