News: Aceves, who blew a save opportunity Sunday, pitched in a non-save situation Monday when he gave up a two-run homer in Boston's win over Detroit. Impact: Aceves, who had been pitching well in the past month leading up to Sunday's blown save, had a few balls hit hard off him Monday. It hasn't been an encouraging two-day stint for Boston's closer, but the team has no plans at this point to audition other members of the bullpen -- a bullpen that by and large has been effective since mid-April.(RotoWire, )

News: Aceves recorded the final four outs of Thursday's 5-3 win at Tampa Bay to earn the save. Impact: It was Aceves's first save of more than three outs and eighth overall. His ERA and WHIP are still high due to an ugly outing against the Yankees earlier this year, but he's been effective in general for the Red Sox.(RotoWire, )
