News: Rienzo earned the win Monday against Detroit as he gave up four earned runs on four hits over 6.1 innings pitched. He walked two and struck out three. Impact: Rienzo pitched rather well until the fourth inning, where he gave up the four earned runs, which included a two-run home run to Austin Jackson. He'll stated to face Tampa Bay at home in his next start, unless he's needed in relief before then.(RotoWire, )

News: Rienzo will pitch Wednesday's game against the Tigers, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports. Impact: Chris Sale (arm) will join Felipe Paulino (shoulder) on the disabled list, meaning Rienzo and Charlie Leesman both get to join the rotation. By pitching Wednesday instead of Tuesday, Rienzo avoids Detroit ace Justin Verlander, but also loses his chance to make two starts during the current scoring period. Given that Rienzo was the first option to fill an empty rotation spot, his leash may be a bit longer than Leesman's. Neither is likely to have much success, and Sale is expected back after the minimum 15 days.(RotoWire, )

News: Rienzo could take the hill Tuesday in Detroit due to Chris Sale's "general" muscular-based soreness, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Impact: The White Sox are hopeful that another day or two of rest will aid Sale in his recovery, but in the meantime, a replacement is likely needed Tuesday. Rienzo was called up Saturday to take over for Felipe Paulino (shoulder), and the former was OK a relief appearance Sunday, surrendering no runs on one hit and one walk, while punching out one in one frame. No matter, Rienzo is bringing along a 0-2 record, 4.85 ERA, 1.692 WHIP, and 9:7 K:BB in 13 innings from his three starts at Triple-A Charlotte this season.(RotoWire, )

News: Rienzo is tentatively slated to start Wednesday against the Dodgers, but manager Robin Ventura said he will also be available out of the bullpen for the next few days, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: Rienzo was called up to fill Felipe Paulino's spot in the rotation, but the bullpen could also use a fresh arm after heavy use for the past few days. Rienzo has historically had issues with walks, and he may not be long for the rotation if he can't get those under control.(RotoWire, )

News: Rienzo was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports. Impact: The bombardment of Felipe Paulino continued Friday -- 10 earned runs on 13 hits and three walks in 3.2 innings -- and afterward, he was diagnosed with an inflamed right rotator cuff. Meanwhile, Rienzo will assume his place in the White Sox's rotation, after recording a modest line in three minor league starts (4.85 ERA, 1.692 WHIP, and 9:7 K:BB in 13 innings).(RotoWire, )
