News: The Yankees haven't made a decision on Pettitte's (shoulder) availability for his next start. However, if he's unable to make that appearance, he will be placed on the DL, Joel Sherman of the NY Post reports. Impact: Most likely, the Yankees will want to see if he's able to get through a bullpen session Sunday or Monday without incident, but Pettitte's availability for the upcoming week appears to be in question and an absence, if required, will last more than turn in the rotation.(RotoWire, )

News: Pettitte left Thursday's game with a tight left trapezius muscle, according to the Yankees web site. Impact: It's almost like someone has a voodoo doll of all the Yankee players and just decides each day who should be the next player to get hurt. News: Pettitte reviewed tape of his last two starts before Saturday's game and discovered that he needed to fix his arm slot. The correction helped improve his record to 4-2. He threw seven innings, giving up two runs, five hits, and a walk while striking out seven. Impact: Pettitte lowered his ERA to 3.83 and WHIP to 1.28 with the strong start. He gave up 10 runs over 9.1 innings through his two previous starts, but true to form, he rebounded from those poor outings like a true veteran ace. Considering he had an average draft position of 293 in preseason drafts, Pettitte has proven to be a great value so far this season. He'll take on the Mariners in his next start.(RotoWire, )
