News: Beavan slumped to Tuesday's 5-0 defeat to Texas and has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. Impact: Beavan was called up from Triple-A Tacoma to fill in for rookie left-hander James Paxton, who is out with a strained muscle in his back. He gave up six hits - two homers and four singles - in four innings with one strikeout. He came out for Dominic Leone because of shoulder soreness.(STATS, 2:48pm)

News: Beavan (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day disabled list Wednesday, Ryan Divish of the Seattle Times reports. Impact: An injury to James Paxton opened the door for Beavan to join the Mariners' rotation, but the right-hander lasted just four innings in his first start before shoulder stiffness forced him off the hill. The team recalled outfielder James Jones to take Beavan's spot on the active roster, and a replacement for Sunday -- Beavan's next scheduled turn -- remains uncertain.(RotoWire, )

News: Beavan was forced out of Tuesday's game with shoulder stiffness, 710 ESPN Seattle's Shannon Drayer reports. He went just four innings, allowing two runs on six hits with one strikeout against the Rangers. Manager Lloyd McClendon would not commit to a starter for Sunday's game, which would've been Beavan's next turn in the rotation. Impact: He apparently thought the tightness would loosen up in the game, but it did not, and he was concerned with his velocity and lack of life on the ball. The lack of movement on his pitches could help explain the two home runs he gave up to Rangers hitters in the second inning, but they could also be explained by Beavan just not being that great of a pitcher. Owners in deeper leagues should keep tabs on his progress, but it sounds like he'll miss his next scheduled start.(RotoWire, )

News: Beavan, who is starting Tuesday's tilt in Texas, has been tentatively penciled in for another nod Sunday at Miami, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports. Impact: The Mariners appear to have their contingency plan in place in case Taijaun Walker (shoulder) emerges from Tuesday's rehab start at Triple-A Tacoma requiring further recovery time. In any case, Beavan has made two appearances at Tacoma this season, posting a 2.08 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 8:4 K:BB in 13 innings.(RotoWire, )

News: Beavan, who is scheduled to start Tuesday's game against the Rangers, was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports. Impact: Beavan is tentatively penciled in for a second start Sunday in Miami, but he's merely biding his time until Taijuan Walker (shoulder) joins the rotation, which could happen as soon as Sunday.(RotoWire, )

News: Beavan will be recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Tuesday, Bob Dutton of the Tacoma News Tribune reports. Impact: With James Paxton (back) recently placed on the disabled list, the Mariners have an opening in the rotation. Beavan will very likely start Tuesday's game against the Rangers in Arlington but may be shipped back to the minors after that outing. Taijuan Walker (shoulder) seems to be nearing his 2014 debut, and Paxton isn't expected to be out for long. Hisashi Iwakuma (finger) is also making progress and could be back in late April or early May.(RotoWire, )
