News: Manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday that Belt could become the team's permanent No. 3 hitter, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. Impact: Pablo Sandoval has lost his grip on the three-hole with an ice cold start to the season (.162 average), and Bochy reportedly thinks Belt could be a "stabilizing" presence in the spot. Belt has been batting second against right-hander and sixth against lefties, but he's batting above .300 against southpaws to this point.(RotoWire, )

News: Belt batted third Friday and went 2-for-4 with a solo shot and his first stolen base of the season. Impact: Buster Posey and Michael Morse were given days off Friday, so Belt was pushed up into the three hole against the Padres. His early season power surge (.294 ISO) is bolstered by an unusually high HR/FB rate of 30 percent. That mark is obviously unsustainable but doesn't mean Belt is a sell-high candidate. It just means he won't hit 60 home runs, which he is currently on pace for.(RotoWire, )

News: Belt collected three hits, including a double and an RBI in Tuesday's win over the Dodgers. Impact: Belt has really cooled off over the past week after going on a power surge to start the season. He has started to look a little bit more like the patient, doubles-power player we were familiar with over his past five games (two doubles, two walks). His overall numbers (.298, five homers, 10 RBI) still look great and he should easily surpass his totals from 2013 as long as he stays healthy.(RotoWire, )

News: Belt collected two more hits and another homer in Tuesday's win over Arizona. Impact: After hitting 17 homers all of last season, Belt already has five in 2014. Fantasy owners may want to think about selling high.(STATS, 9:59pm)

News: Belt collected two hits, including his fifth home run of the season in Tuesday's win over Arizona. Impact: Belt - for a lack of a better term - continues to belt the ball in early in the season. Through eight games in April, Belt is hitting .343 with five homers and nine RBI. The usually patient hitter has yet to draw a walk this season, but you won't hear his owners complaining if his aggressive approach is resulting in more long balls. Belt looks well on his way to finally having that breakout campaign many have been predicting for several years.(RotoWire, )

News: Belt was 2 for 4 with his fourth homer of the season in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers. Impact: It remains to be seen if Belt can continue to produce anywhere close to this level over a larger sample size, but owners are certainly enjoying his torrid start. He's hitting .323 with seven RBIs in as many games.(STATS, 6:16pm)
