News: Sale will be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a flexor muscle strain in his left arm, but White Sox GM Rick Hahn only expects the lefty to be out for the minimum 15 days, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: Sale threw a career-high 127 pitches in his last start, then skipped his side session Sunday. An MRI on the affected ligament came back clean, so the lefty may only miss two or three starts. Having last pitched Apr. 17, he should be eligible to come off the disabled list May 3. The White Sox expect that to happen, but it's far from a sure thing at this early juncture. Andre Rienzo will pitch Wednesday, while Charlie Leesman has been called up to pitch Tuesday's game.(RotoWire, )

News: Sale is headed to the 15-day disabled list with what the team believes is a strained muscle in his throwing arm. Impact: General manager Rick Hahn says the White Sox are erring on the side of caution, and that an MRI suggests no ligament damage. Sale was supposed to face Tigers star Justin Verlander on Tuesday night, but now Chicago will be without its ace. Charlie Leesman is expected to start that game instead. The 25-year-old Sale threw 127 pitches in a loss to Boston on Thursday. He's 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA on the season.(STATS, 6:23pm)

News: Sale's scheduled start Tuesday at Detroit will likely be pushed back due to "general" muscle-based soreness, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: In 2012, Sale missed two starts due to a similar concern, but manager Robin Ventura is hopeful that a few days off will aid in a quicker recovery. Sale is coming off a 127-pitch outing Thursday against a patient Red Sox lineup, but without a definitive course of action, the date of his next scheduled start is unknown.(RotoWire, )

News: Sale will skip his side session Sunday after throwing a career-high 127 pitches Thursday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. Impact: It was a bit concerning to see Sale throw so many pitches so early in the season, but it looks like the White Sox are taking steps to avoid future damage. It would not be surprising to see him receive a light load Tuesday against Detroit.(RotoWire, )

News: Sale was on the wrong end of a pitching duel with Boston's Jon Lester in a 3-1 loss Thursday night. Impact: Xander Bogaerts homered with two out in the sixth for Boston's only hit off Sale, who was seeking his fourth win in as many starts. He fanned a season-high 10 in his seven innings Thursday. News: Sale took a no-decision against Boston on Thursday, allowing one run with 10 strikeouts in seven innings. Impact: Sale allowed just one hit, but it was a solo homer in the sixth inning. Unfortunately Sale squared off against Jon Lester, who was just as dominant with eight innings of one-run ball. Continue to start the ace lefty with confidence.(RotoWire, )

News: Sale went only five innings Friday against the Indians but got the win after allowing three runs and six hits over five innings. Impact: Sale has enjoyed an average of 6.64 runs of support thus far - likely a nice change for the left-hander after he averaged 3.19 runs of support in 2013 while going 11-14.(STATS, 5:13pm)

News: Sale improved to 3-0 on the season Friday against the Indians, giving up three runs on six hits and two walks over five innings, while striking out five. Impact: Sale's lackluster performance was greatly aided by the uninspiring Carlos Carrasco taking the hill for the Indians, allowing Sale to tie the Mariners' Felix Hernandez for the league lead in wins. The 25-year-old lefty is probably due for a cheap win like Friday's every now and then, after getting stuck with an 11-14 record last season, despite his impressive 3.07 ERA and 1.07 WHIP.(RotoWire, )

News: Sale gave up four singles in eight scoreless innings as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Royals 5-1 in a pitching duel between top starters. Impact: Sale struck out six and walked one. In his previous four starts against the Royals, the White Sox had backed him with one run, enough to beat James Shields 1-0 in the 2012 opener. He is a fantasy stud for sure.(STATS, 3:28pm)
